An 84-mile-long journey begins seeping through the rocks of Mount Wagner and then picks up flow as it drains about 890 square miles of the western part of the Salt River Range in Wyoming and the eastern part of the Caribou Range of Idaho. The journey ends at its confluence with the Snake River near the town of Alpine in Wyoming and Palisades Reservoir. As this small, intimate river meanders through the breathtakingly picturesque Star Valley it is joined by and mingles with clear cold springs. The crystal clear slow moving water holds some of the largest trout to be found in the west with some of the most technical small stream fishing there is. This is the Salt River and at its heart lies the private fly fishing club, Feathered Hook.
